Broken shoulder update and what I've been doing lately

My broken shoulder is healing fine and my last x-ray showed that the bone is growing appropriately. At least that's what they physician's assistant said; I could see hardly any difference between the recent and original x-rays. But they say it will take up to nine months total, and more recently I can feel solid bits in there near my bump, where there weren't solid bits before. So I suppose that's good. Plus it hardly ever hurts anymore. So I just keep doing the exercises and crossing my fingers that I won't have to do surgery in six months.

Here's what I've been up to since my last list, six weeks ago.
  • Transfered my 401k from my old employer.
  • Went through a lot of old paperwork.
  • Updated my Amazon Wish List.
  • Designed a dozen or so magazine covers, just for the heck of it.
  • Wrote a couple letters and cards to friends and family.
  • Read some more magazines that had been piling up.
  • Tagged along on Velma's 2.5-day site visit to Humboldt.
  • Bought a Time Capsule so we can do wireless backups (haven't hooked it up yet).
  • Ate carrot-cake cupcakes.
  • Did my new proscribed shoulder exercises.
  • Went to some more Kaiser appointments.
  • Updated the blog post Supporting causes
  • Updated the blog post The "Whatever happened to..." project
  • Updated the blog post UrbanBaby 1.5 redesign goes live
  • Updated the blog post Air America Radio on iTunes
  • Read Blood of Angels by Michael Marshall
  • Read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein
  • Read Sex and Rockets by John Carter
  • Started reading Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson
  • Cleaned my camera lens.
  • Voted in the Webby Awards.
  • Searched online for patio furniture that isn't ugly. Velma finally found a relatively inexpensive set on sale just down the street at Cole Hardware.
  • Searched online for archival storage boxes and vinyl sleeves.
  • Bought some large flat boxes for my Western Front News archive.
  • Waited for the PG&E guy to come fix the heater.
  • Waited for the heating guy to come fix the heater that the PG&E guy disconnected.
  • Went though a box of old paperwork and junk.
  • Read some more magazines.
  • Read about the Christian Scientists on Wikipedia.
  • Designed three ads for Ozark Handspun.
  • Ate cookies in quantity.
  • Bought some first aid supplies and played nurse to Velma because she had an extreme allergic reaction to fig tree sap.
  • Played nurse for Velma after she got all her wisdom teeth pulled in one day.
  • Reorganized part of my bookshelves to make room for some new books and records I bought.
  • Watched Across the Universe Really good for a musical.
  • Re-watched Little Women
  • Re-watched Raiders of the Lost Ark
  • Re-watched Temple of Doom
  • Re-watched The Last Crusade
  • Re-watched the bonus features to all three Indiana Jones movies.
  • Watched Bound
  • Watched Kids
  • Re-watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High
  • Re-watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and all the bonus features.
  • Watched Dig! plus one of the three commentary tracks.
  • Watched Heaven and Hell Live 2007 Radio City Music Hall and all the bonus features.
  • Watched Season 2, discs 1 and 2 of Gene Simmons Family Jewels
  • Watched Speed Can you believe I never saw this before? It was alright for an action flick, but that bus jumping a 50-foot gap in a freeway overpass was just stupid.
  • Watched Untamed Heart So sad. I love Christian Slater. I love Marisa Tomei. I hate Rosie Perez.
  • Re-watched Seven plus one of the commentary tracks and the featurette.
  • Re-watched Sin City plus one of the commentary tracks.
  • Planned a surprise or two for Velma.
  • Went to an in-store with science fiction author Lois McMaster Bujold, got her to sign a couple books.
  • Culled old stock photo catalogs to get rid of most of them (set them aside to donate to SCRAP) and keep just a few well-designed ones.
  • Organized my font catalogs.
  • Folded and organized all my T-shirts, and got rid of some I don't wear anymore (donate to Goodwill).
  • Called "the new AT&T" (that's how they answer) to get my 2005 and 2007 phone records.
  • Reminded the cleaners, once again, not to clean my fragile collection of old books with a damp rag (they're made of paper, dammit!).
  • Downloaded some software to try out.
  • Attended the Web 2.0 Expo.
  • Bought Aaron N. a milkshake because I wanted his advice on a business idea.
  • Bought a design book at Stacey's.
  • Read some blogs and stuff.
  • Posted Top 5s.
  • Posted some new photos to the photoblog.
  • Put up the hammock we bought in Mexico.
  • Repotted a plant for Velma.
  • Watered the garden regularly.
  • Laid down a soaker hose to make watering the garden a bit easier.
  • Purchased some 1980s and 1970s photo prints of Black Sabbath, Ozzy with Randy Rhoads, the Clash, and Led Zeppelin, from a photographer named Alan Perry.
  • Researched and tried a few database apps (free, shareware, and webware ones), none of which really impressed me. Either they didn't do what I actually wanted them to do, or they did but their inelegance and poor usability made them not worth it. Actually, Coghead was pretty cool, but it doesn't really export to CSV yet, making it pointless for me. Next I'm going to try Bento from FileMaker, but I have to upgrade to Leopard to use it at all : /
  • Added a photo to the Wikipedia page for Eric Hedford.
  • Added some screengrabs of cool web designs to my Flickr groups.
  • Uploaded the photos I took at Save the Redwoods League's 90th birthday party and sent them to their Flickr group pool.
  • Did more laundry.
  • Went to the post office a few times.
  • Picked up cat food and some stuff at the drug store.
  • Listened to NPR a lot.
  • Listened to some KGO radio, KFOG, and even The Bone.
  • Did some gardening (including picking and eating strawberries, yum!).
  • Went to The Dandy Warhols' pre-release listening party.
  • Did more boring paperwork.
  • Updated my résumé.
  • Went to a "Personalized Job Search Assistance Session" at the Employment Development Department (required if you file for unemployment). Complete. Waste. Of. Time.
  • Did a little of the grocery shopping.
  • Wrote and re-wrote a letter to our landlord who falsely accused us of something he wanted to charge us $90 for >: |
  • Had brunch with Carmen, Teg, Jenny, and Chris.
  • Went to the beach for the first time in forever.
  • Had Cicero's Pizza for the first time in forever.
  • Took my mom to the Cliff House for Mother's Day (Velma's good idea).
  • Took my mom to Cicero's Pizza for her birthday, but stupidly forgot to take her gifts with us before we left the house.
  • Bought a Japanese maple (i've wanted one for a long time, and they were finally on sale at Flower Craft).
  • Added search engines to Firefox.
  • Registered a domain.
  • Started typing up the About section for my website, which I've been planning to add for about 4 years now.
  • Added a friends list / blogroll-type-thang to the blog template.
  • Made a new version of a desktop screen I originally made about ten years ago.
  • Revisited some web designs I made a few years ago, for a site I might one day launch.
  • Went to an Iron Maiden concert.
  • Thought about buying into a TIC.
  • Scanned some old pre-digital prints and posted more than a month's worth of photos to the photoblog.
  • Looked through my box of Dandy Warhols pictures.
  • Wrote some notes on three books I may one day put together.

I cannot believe I read that whole thing. Do I get a medal? Or better yet, the last five minutes of my life back?

BTW, you mentioned watering the garden twice and misspelled "all" ("al") and "résumé" ("résum:é").

P.S. I'm very glad to hear your shoulder's healing up all nice-like. Let's get you back on those icy mountain tops soon.
